The Balanced You Program
What is your Balanced You Program?
It is 8 sessions over 3-4 months designed to hone in on developing a mindset, lifestyle practices, and a nourishment template to facilitate lifelong habit change which will move you toward your chosen goals and outcomes. We'll work on these together so you're clear on where you're headed. We'll take a deep dive into conscious eating, hunger and fullness, recognizing self-sabotage, understanding and managing stress, sleep, and cravings, morning and evening routines, evaluating and setting boundaries, looking at your life balance in general, and taking a life inventory. There will be other exercises as well focused on the mindset piece. It's nourishment for all aspects of your life, including, but not limited, to food! Your hydration, digestion, energy regulation via blood sugar balance will be evaluated and the educational component of your program will dig into these foundations of health.
What does it include?
1 - an initial comprehensive consultation (60 min) in which we go over your nutritional assessment, your initial history, and your food journal
2 - diet, lifestyle, and nutrient recommendations to support your body's priority needs
3 - seven follow-up consultations (45 min each) within a three to four month period, meeting approximately every other week
4 - one more Nutritional Assessment Questionnaire so as to gauge improvements, reassess priorities, and make adjustments.
5 - four 3-day food journal evaluations to help you continue to tweak for nutrient density
6 - post-consult notes for you to refer to between consults
7 - mindset exercises to foster lasting habit change
8 - education in areas pertinent to your understanding and success
How much does it cost?
I am happy to discuss pricing with you through a complimentary 30 minute discovery call in which we visit to find out if we are a good match - I guide our conversation to see if I believe I can be of help in your situation and you can get clarity on what I have to offer. This is not a high pressure sales call. I only want to work with clients who are ready and able to commit. Clicking on the button to schedule your call will first direct you to a discovery call survey - a short questionnaire that will give me some direction for our call. The questionnaire isn't mandatory, but it can help save time on our call so we can discuss more in depth. I'll then be in touch with you to schedule.
Do we really need three to four months?
Imbalances don’t occur overnight and they don’t resolve overnight, either. It takes time to peel back the layers and to address them with nutrition, and it takes time to replace old habits with new ones that contribute to your wellness. Seeing and feeling changes take place can begin relatively quickly after implementing your program, but the body and mind both need time to settle in to the work that's being done to have the best opportunity for lasting success. My Balanced You Lite and Balance You Intro programs are other options if you aren't ready or able to commit to the full program but would like to ease into a healthier lifestyle. If, however, you have a ways to go, have been dealing with issues for some time, and you want to truly move forward, this is the program for you. Programs can be stacked for clients who need to work on their health long-term.
Do you accept insurance?
As I am not a licensed medical professional, I am unable to accept your insurance. You may, however, check with your health savings plan to see if a program such as this can be reimbursed.
Will this program fix my problem?
My role is like that of a health coach with advanced training, in that I help to guide you toward better health using the tools I have access to. I am not a doctor, therefore I do not diagnose, treat, heal, or cure any condition. I look for imbalances and address them from a functional nutrition standpoint. There are no guarantees, but I'll do all I can to ensure that you make progress toward your goals, and much of this will depend on your ability to adhere to the recommendations put forth in your program. Baby steps or all-in, it is up to you, and we will work together to get you feeling better and experiencing improvements along the way. Working on resolving health complaints can be a bit like peeling an onion. Each layer can reveal an underlying issue that we address, and we can get as far as we can with your program and then reevaluate your progress and whether you'd like to continue.
What is your food philosophy?
I believe in a properly prepared, whole food, nutrient dense diet. I also believe in taking a person’s bioindividuality into account; in other words, there is no “one size fits all” diet. I'm not a huge fan of extreme approaches either; while they can sometimes be of benefit short term, I prefer a more balanced approach for the long haul. Eating plans often take quite a bit of tweaking to find what works the best for an individual. That said, I do believe that we all need at least some animal protein in our diets. If you follow a vegan/vegetarian lifestyle and are not willing to incorporate any animal protein into your diet, I am probably not the practitioner for you, simply because I believe our bodies need it for building healthy hormones, cells, tissues, and organs. Our bodies are not always efficient with converting plant protein into protein the body uses well, and there are some nutrients that are much more easily acquired with animal protein.
How does your online coaching program work?
Right now, I am only working with clients online. I use Zoom Video Conferencing as my platform. You can download it for free and it’s quite user friendly. Meeting by phone can work, although I like video conferencing because it feels more like we're meeting in person and I can also share my screen if necessary for visual learning purposes. My schedule will soon be posted in my practice management portal. I see clients at various time blocks between 9 and 4 pm Mon-Friday.
How do we get started?
Fill out my Discovery Call Questionnaire as it gives me more information and can save us time on your call. If, after we chat, we decide to work together and you commit through payment, I will send your intake and client agreement forms through email along with the invitation to take the nutritional assessment questionnaire (NAQ). We’ll get your first consultation scheduled and off we go!
